A-Z index of majors, minors, and cooperative programs

What will you study?

Cornell offers a wide variety of programs and pre-professional tracks. Use this list to explore your options. When you start as a first-year student at Cornell you won't be locked in to a specific major, you'll have time to explore and try a few things out first. Cornell students work closely with their faculty advisor to identify their major, or majors, in their second year. You might even find that you're interested in elements from two different areas that combine together into the perfect individualized major that fits you and your goals. Your advisor will help you define that with the Registrar and you'll graduate with your very own major.

Create your own major

The individualized major gives you the opportunity to design your own major usually with a concentration of courses slightly different than an existing major or an interdisciplinary field of study that you develop with the advice of your academic advisor. You customize the major to your specific career goals.
