Fine Arts
Exploring the fine arts at Cornell College
Is there creativity in your soul? You are invited to take part in the fine arts programs and activities at Cornell and follow your muse even if you don't plan to make that activity your academic major or minor. Our music ensembles, theatre performances, writing groups, and art groups are made up of majors, non-majors, and explorers alike.
You could:
- Join the Art Interest Group or life drawing workshops as part of the art community.
- Visit the Peter Paul Luce Gallery in McWethy Hall and attend artist receptions.
- Wander other art installations in the Hall-Perrine room and lounge in Thomas Commons or spaces in Cole Library.
- Attend musical performances throughout the academic year.
- Audition for a music ensemble for voice or instrument and perform for the campus community.
- Work front of stage or behind the scenes in a theatre production—watch the OC posters for audition announcements.
- Take in theatre and dance shows as a member of the audience and cheer on your fellow student actors, producers, set designers, and the sound and lighting crew.
- Meet up with your writing muse at the Van Etten-Lacey House for a reading by a visiting author through the Center for Literary Arts.
- Join the Student Literary Arts Board (SLAB) and participate in events and play with words on Free Write Fridays.
