Transfer student classifications
Transfer students with less than seven credits will follow the first-year schedule including academic advising and selecting their first semester courses.
Transfer students who have 7 or more transfer credits will follow this schedule and be part of a transfer-only flock. More about tranfer student activities.
Wednesday, August 21
8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Assigned/selected move-in times for residential students, Residence Halls
(You will receive an email this summer from Residence Life for your assigned time and where to report.)
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Orientation Check-in (both residential and commuter students), Thomas Commons
10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lunch, Hilltop Café
12-2 p.m. Optional campus tours starting at 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., Thomas Commons lobby
1 p.m.-3:45 p.m. Parent orientation sessions, Hall Perrine
3:15 p.m. Flock Group meeting
4 p.m. Convocation & family farewells, McClennan College Hall lawn
5-7 p.m. Dinner, Hilltop Café
7-7:30 p.m. Required Floor Meetings for Residential Students, Meet in Thomas Commons
7:30 p.m. Evening entertainment (optional)
Thursday, August 22
7-8:45 a.m. Breakfast, Hilltop Café
7:30-9:30 a.m. Fall sport athletic practices
8-9:30 a.m. Free time: opportunity to visit offices during their working hours including: Registrar, Financial Assistance, Student Accounts, Disability Services, etc.
9:30 a.m. Orientation group check-in/travel to coffee with Sharon Grice
9:40-10 a.m. Coffee with Sharon, Zamora's Lounge
10:05 - 10:35 a.m. Essentials for the Classroom, Thomas Commons classroom
10:45-11:25 a.m. Group advising, assigned classrooms
11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Stellic and Self-Service, assigned classrooms
12 p.m.-1 p.m. Lunch, Hilltop Café
(12-1 p.m.: Pre-health luncheon, Smith Dining Room)
1-5 p.m. Group rotations
- Individual advising appointments at 1 and 2 p.m., Faculty Offices
- Additional group rotation topics, various locations
