Student Life Committee
The Student Life Committee is composed of four Class Representatives, the Chair of Student Life, one representative from the Student Athletic Advisory Council, one representative from the Student Theatre Council, and one representative from the Performing Arts and Activities Council. The goals of the Student Life Committee are as follows:
- Serves as the liaison between students and select staff regarding any concerns related to student well-being, engagement, and experience.
- Plan and host the annual Big Event.
- Provide support and implement projects that further the well-being, engagement, and experience of current students.
- Plan and host events to represent Student Senate to the student body.
Meetings
The Student Life Committee meets at 8:00 pm Wednesdays on the first, second, and third weeks of the block. At these meetings they discuss issues, propose and maintain projects, and plan events that relate to student well-being, engagement, involvement, and entertainment.
Current projects
The Student Life Committee proposes and maintains projects which are funded by Student Senate for the overall betterment of the student body. Our current projects include:
- Get Outta Town
- Provides a free trip for any student to go somewhere off campus over a block break within 50 miles of Cornell College.
- Campus Hammocks
- Menstrual Product Project
- Currently maintained by the Academic Affairs Committee.
- Purple Bikes
- Sleds for Winter
- Purple Pillows
- Sexual Assault Awareness Month Education Programming
