2023-24 Academic Affairs Committee

The Academic Affairs Committee is composed of four Class Representatives and the Chair of Academic Affairs. The goals of the Academic Affairs Committee are as follows:

  • Serves as the liaison between students and faculty/staff regarding Academic policy and concerns.
  • Informs the student body about any pertinent changes to academic policy and voices the opinion of the student body at faculty meetings.
  • Develops and implements certain academic policy objectives, as the student body sees fit, which may include both student-run initiatives and formal proposals presented to the faculty Academic Affairs Committee
  • Allocates grant money for students for individual academic activities including but not limited to research and conferences.

Meetings

The Academic Affairs Committee meets at 7:00 pm Thursdays on the first, second, and third weeks of the block. At these meetings they discuss changes to the academic affairs on campus, develop initiatives related to academic affairs, and listen to presentations for academic grants.

Academic Activities Grants

A portion of the student activity fee is set aside to fund academic grants and activities. These funds can be requested by students who want to participate in academic activities, conferences, and projects which cannot be funded by any other available funding.
