Summer Mail Service
Summer mail forwarding for students
What happens to your mail over summer break? There are three standard options:
- USPS mail is forwarded to your permanent U.S. address on file by default. No action is needed from you for this option.
- You can identify an alternate address for forwarding.
- If you're staying on or close to campus, you can notify us that you'll continue to pick up your mail from the MSC.
What mail gets forwarded?
Your United States Postal letters and packages (only First Class, Ground, and Priority Rate) received during the summer will be forwarded to your permanent address.
Non-forwardable mail and packages:
- United States postal mail (Parcel Select, PS Lightweight, Presort, Non-Profit, and Media Mail)
- UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Amazon packages
- Subscription services (such as Ipsy and Shave Club)
- Magazines
- To a foreign address
If your mail cannot be forwarded then it will be held in the Mail & Service Center until your return in the fall. Other options are:
- Pay to have your package shipped to you using a credit card
- Return to campus to pick it up
- Have a friend pick it up. Email ServiceCenter@CornellCollege.edu with the name of your proxy and your box number
Dates for summer mail forwarding
Forwarding will begin one week after graduation. Forwarding ends August 1 and your mail will be delivered to your campus mailbox.
