Transfer Student Information
All students bringing in transfer credits will participate in New Student Orientation starting on Wednesday, August 21. Transfer students with more than seven credits will work with the Student Success Center to register for courses during June and July. Transfer students with less than seven credits will register during orientation.
You will find yourself placed in a group with other transfer students, who will be adjusting to life at Cornell College. Throughout Transfer Orientation, you will participate in several activities which will help you to learn more about Cornell and the experiences you can anticipate having on campus. In relation to your academic success, you will:
- Meet with your faculty advisor.
- Meet with other faculty and learn about majors, experiential learning opportunities, and career resources.
- Hear from current transfer students.
In addition to these academic experiences, you will also attend sessions to help you with your success on campus related to other student services, including:
- Tours of the library
- Transfer student-only meetings with Student Engagement & Leadership, and Academic Affairs staff
- An opportunity to explore Mount Vernon
- Additional discussions to help with being successful on campus
Commuter students will participate in segments of orientation on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There are optional evening activities you can also choose to join in as well!
We look forward to having you arrive on campus. Please make sure to fill out the forms on your personal checklist before orientation begins.
