Beta Omicron (Owls) fraternity

Beta Omicron (Owls) was founded in 1917 by Roe Howard '71 and a group of six friends.  Howard was an inspiration and represented the principles and vision for which the group was founded. A Mount Vernon native, he represented the best of Cornell at the time: he was an all-state guard on the football team, member of the basketball and tennis teams, member of the Amphictyon Literary Society, and played French horn in the orchestra.

The Beta Omicron Distinguished Alumni Visitors Program provides an opportunity for accomplished Cornell College alumni to share their professional expertise and life journeys to help prepare students become leaders of tomorrow. Beta Omicron Distinguished Alumni Visitors enable students to bridge theory and practice to enhance their academic and professional development through a variety of course visits, workshops, public lectures, and engaging conversations over meals to enhance their academic and professional development. The program was inspired by Lee Swanson '60 and is generously supported by an endowment provided by Beta Omicron Alumni.

Owl colors are black and white.
