Medical Insurance
Medical insurance for students who are permanent U.S. residents
Cornell College strongly encourages all students to have health insurance that covers them in the state of Iowa. The Affordable Care Act allows students to stay on their parents’ policy through age 26. Please check with your carrier to make sure you have coverage while away from home, especially if you are from out of state. Specific arrangements may need to be made with your company to establish out-of-area coverage.
All students should carry a copy of their own insurance card—contact your carrier if an additional card is needed.
If you need help navigating your insurance needs, please stop by the health center for a referral to navigators in our area. If you do not have health insurance, or are covered by another state’s Medicaid plan, we can help you apply for Iowa Medicaid.
Medical insurance requirements for international students
All international students will be automatically billed for health insurance through Cornell College.
