Imagine that you are news reporter with the Athenian Gazette. The Time: The Battle of Salamis The Task: Interview one of the participants or people affected by the battle: Xerxes, Artemisia, Atossa, or Themistocles, or perhaps a Persian sailor, a Greek sailor, or a woman who has had to pick up house and home and move to Troezen (near Epidauros) in the Peloponnesos. To prepare for the interview, write four questions in Greek that you plan to ask. Then after re-reading the events surrounding the Battle of Salamis (Chapter 15a-b), write in Greek what you think the person you are interviewing would answer your questions. You may use the language from the readings, provided it works grammatically. |
