On page 230 of Athenaze, there is a map of the Persian Wars with boxes for the major stages of the Persian Wars. Using this map of the Persian Wars (courtesy of the Herodotus website), create your own map of the different stages of the Persian Wars in 480-79 BCE. Write 2-3 sentences for each of the following events: Crossing the Hellespont Battle of Thermopylae aftermath of the Battle of Thermopylae at Artemisium sack of Athens Battle of Salamis aftermath of the Battle of Salamis Draw a box around each description and then line to each place name. You may use the vocabulary and language of the readings from Chapters 14-15 to write your description.
