Rebecca Entel
Robert P. Dana Director of the Center for the Literary Arts
Professor of English and Creative Writing Rebecca Entel is a teacher, writer, and scholar. She is the author of the novel Fingerprints of Previous Owners (The Unnamed Press, 2017) and numerous stories and essays in journals such as Guernica, Catapult, Literary Hub, Electric Literature, and Cleaver. Her scholarly work about Civil War literature has appeared in various journals and anthologies. She teaches a broad range of courses including Novel Writing, The Slave Narrative, Literature and Social Justice (in Chicago), Caribbean Literature (in the Bahamas), and Literary Citizenship. As Director of the Center for the Literary Arts, she oversees the Visiting Writer Series, Open Field, SLAB, the Chautauqua internship, and other activities at the Van Etten-Lacey House.
