College Visits Resources
Encouraging college visits
High school counselors are tasked with preparing their high school students for college. A college visit can help students visualize themselves on a college campus. This may be important for any college-bound student but even more so for any first-gen students you advise who may have even more questions about what to expect. We've compiled resources on college visits for you to use in your advising meetings and to share with your students. Check back periodically, as we will continue to add additional resources.
What to ask on a college visit
The campus visit is one of the most critical parts of choosing a college—by asking a lot of questions, face-to-face, with counselors, aid officials, and current students, your students can get a feel for whether it’s the right place for them to live and learn for the four years.
