Ordering Cornell College Transcripts
Transcript requests are generally processed once daily. At times, there may be a delay when the information does not match our records or if additional verification is needed.
Transcript Information for outside institutions
Cornell Credit hours: Each Cornell course is the equivalent of 4 semester hours or 6 quarter hours using the standard Carnegie definition of a credit hour. Each course meets for at least two and three quarters hours per day, as required under the Carnegie definition, and requires a proportional amount of work outside class.
Release of transcripts
Financial Hold: If there is a financial hold on your student record, you must resolve this issue before a transcript can be released. Questions regarding financial obligations to the College should be directed to 319.895.4593 or studentaccounts@cornellcollege.edu.
Delivery of transcripts
We recommend that electronic transcripts only be sent directly to the person or institution who needs to use them. However, if you do need to send the transcript to yourself first, make sure to follow the instructions provided by the NSC about how to ensure the document is secure.
Transcripts issued to the student are stamped “issued to student” and enclosed in a sealed envelope. If you are forwarding the transcript to another party (e.g., another college or university, potential employer, etc.) where an official transcript is required, you should not open the envelope.
Unofficial transcripts
Unofficial copies of Cornell transcripts are available to currently enrolled students only without charge. They do not bear the registrar’s signature or College seal and are for your personal use only. Log in to our secure student records site to view and print your current class schedule, unofficial transcript, and an enrollment verification statement.
Transcripts from other schools
Cornell cannot provide copies of transcripts from other schools you attended. If transcripts are needed from those schools, please contact them directly.
