Registrar Resources for Faculty and Staff

As a member of the Cornell faculty and staff, you’re part of a dedicated group of professionals working on an uncommon calendar. Some of the tools that we use at Cornell to track student progress have been modified specifically to work for One Course At A Time, our Ingenuity curriculum, and Ingenuity in Action graduation requirements.

Ingenuity curriculum

Our Ingenuity curriculum and the Ingenuity in Action program are the structure that prepares our students for a lifetime of careers. Our curriculum leans on the power of the Liberal Arts to train students to think critically and problem solve, be collaborators with faculty and fellow students, explore widely, make connections between their individual courses, and gain hands-on experiences related to their program of study.

Identifying courses that meet Ingenuity category requirements

Courses that meet the requirements for Ingenuity categories are designated as such in the Course Catalogue. For easy reference, we’ve compiled lists of searches by essential ability:

Designating courses as Building Essential Abilities courses

If you are offering a course or designing a course that you feel qualifies to meet the criteria for a Building Essential Abilities course, you can request that we add that designation to the Course Catalogue.

Academic Advising

As a member of our faculty you will also play the important role of academic advisor to Cornell students. When surveyed, our students point to the academic advising at Cornell as instrumental in their success here. Support for Academic Advisors is primarily provided through the Student Success Center in Thomas Commons, though Stellic, our degree planning and course mapping tool and grade reporting is supported by the Registrar’s Office.
