Delta Phi Alpha Honor Society

Delta Phi Alpha is the national German honor society for higher education in the United States. Founded in 1929, it recognizes excellence in the study of German. Membership in the Zeta Tau Chapter of Cornell College, founded in 1968, is by invitation to students, both majors and non-majors, who have demonstrated superior ability in 300-level German courses and who meet the national requirements.

German Club

The German Club is a student organization that hosts German cultural events and field trips for the entire campus community, German speaking or not. Recent events include:

  • Trip to Oktoberfest in the Amana Colonies
  • Annual Cornell languages department bake-off
  • May Day parade
  • Trip to Chicago to see the opera Parzifal at the Lyric Opera
  • German holiday cookie bake
  • German karaoke and open-mic night
  • German film showings
