HEERF II (CRRSA) - Student Funding
Student Funds – Quarterly Reporting 6-21-21
Cornell College acknowledged receipt of HEERF II Federal Emergency Grant funding by signing and returning the Certificate and Agreement form on April 9, 2020.
Cornell College received $422,821 in the student portion of the CRRSA Funding and used the entire amount to provide emergency grants to students which could be used for any component of their cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arose due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or child care.
Cornell College distributed the $422,821 to 877 students at the end of February 2021. This report constitutes the final report for the student portion of the CRRSA/HEERF II funding.
The College established this eligibility criteria for these emergency grants:
- Students must be formally enrolled, full-time or half-time, at Cornell College on February 18, 2021 (the date of the fund disbursement).
- Students need level based on their level of demonstrated financial need as determined from their 2020-2021 processed FAFSA.
- Priority was given to Pell eligible students.

Dear students,
The passage of the 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act authorized more than $21 billion in
supplemental Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF II) dollars for institutions to spend on emergency student grants and defraying institutional expenses and carry out student support activities related to the coronavirus pandemic. Due to this act, Cornell has recently received $422,781 in Emergency Relief funding to directly distribute to Cornellians.
Eligible students may use these funds to cover any component of your cost of attendance or emergency costs that arise due to the Coronavirus, such as, but not limited to, tuition, food, housing, books, travel expenses, health care, mental health care, or child care.
For eligible students the Business Office will process payments beginning February 24th. If you have provided Student Accounts with your completed ACH Authorization form (your banking information), you should expect to receive your funding through EFT to the bank account we have on file for you. Otherwise, a check will be sent to your campus mailbox. If you are currently learning from home, please contact the Mail Center at servicecenter@cornellcollege.edu to have your check forwarded.
