Biographical Sketch
Rebecca Wines’s research interests include representations of migration in French and Francophone film, the questioning of identity in narratives about sport, and constructions of masculinity. She teaches at all levels of the French program, from Beginning French I to the senior capstone, and has offered courses such as History, Traditions, and Identities in Aix-en-Provence, France, and Classical French Theatre in Translation. She also regularly teaches courses in the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies program. Past courses that bridged these programs include Where Women Wielded Power: Salon Culture in France; Sports and Identities in the Francophone World; and Francophone Women in Translation.
