Do you live and breathe mock trial? Are you a debater or speech kid who wants to see what it might be like to do mock trial in college? Join Cornell College’s nationally competitive mock trial team for a week-long summer camp open to all rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, as well as 2024 high school graduates.
Over the week, campers will walk through every piece of presenting a mock trial case, from giving opening statements to creating believable witnesses. The week will end with a mini mock trial tournament where campers will present the cases they have been working on with their teams.
In addition to everything mock trial, residential campers (students who stay overnight) will also have the option to go on outings to local events, such as a Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball game. See our sample camp schedule to get a feel for what camp will be like.

Deadlines & fees
- Registration opens January 1, 2024.
- Scholarship applications are due March 1, 2024.
- The final deadline to register is May 7, 2024.
- Payment is due by May 7, 2024.
Registration options
Residential: $1200 (camp, evening social outings, three daily meals, and campus housing)
Commuter: $900 (camp, daily lunch, and dinner on Sunday, July 7)
Registration fees are non-refundable except in the unlikely event that the Cornell College Mock Trial Camp is canceled due to low enrollment.
Scholarships for Iowa Mockers
Two scholarships of $900 each (or $600 for commuting campers) are available to campers who are Iowa residents and who have financial need. These scholarships can be applied for on the camp registration form. All scholarship requests are due by March 1, 2024.
