Financial Suspension
Student accounts are reviewed regularly throughout each semester. Accounts that are found to be delinquent could result in registration and housing selection holds.
For students who are delinquent on their account at the end of Block 4 or Block 8, financial suspension may occur on or after the final day of the respective Block following a thorough review of the student’s account history. This means that all funding sources have been received by Cornell, and not that they are en route.
Students on financial suspension:
- Will be dropped from all course registrations.
- Will not return to campus housing, and their rooms must be relinquished by 11 a.m. on the Thursday immediately following the end of the Block.
- Will no longer be able to participate in athletic or other college activities.
- Will have their enrollment deposits applied to their outstanding balance.
- Will have holds placed on their official transcripts until the balance is paid in full.
To be readmitted:
To be readmitted, a student’s financial obligations to the College must be paid in full before the Academic Exceptions Committee can consider any application for readmission. Suspended students wishing to be readmitted to Cornell will need to apply for readmission through the Academic Standing Committee and will be required to remit another $300.00 enrollment deposit. Readmission to Cornell College is not guaranteed.
