Speech & Assembly

College students are citizens of the academic community, therefore students should have the right to freedoms including freedom of speech, peaceful assembly, and the right of petition. The College retains the right to determine the appropriate time, place and manner of assembly. Behaviors that disrupt or obstruct normal College activities (including, but not limited to teaching, research, study, work, business operations, or sleep) are not permitted.

Faculty members and administrative officials should ensure that institutional powers are not employed to inhibit students' exercise of their rights both on and off campus.
