The Office of the Registrar is located on first floor of Old Sem. We help students register for courses, maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all students, support faculty through maintaining the course catalogue and classroom management, and provide students and alumni access to transcript services and verifications as necessary.
The Block Plan offers many opportunities for individualized paths to graduation. It also requires many recurring deadlines for both students and faculty. We offer a number of resources from our department calendar and published deadlines for students and faculty to stay on top of changes each block. It can also be helpful to keep a block calendar of the current academic year nearby for reference!

Resources for current students
To support students’ academic exploration, development, and progress, the Registrar’s Office welcomes students’ questions about navigating graduation, general education, and major requirements. If we cannot answer your questions, we will refer you to the best sources for additional help and information.
Resources for incoming students
Incoming students will work most closely with their Admission Counselor to prepare their student records and college application. During the summer preceding your first semester at Cornell, you will work more with our office to prepare for course registration by taking exams that help us determine what level of preparation you have in a small selection of subjects.
Resources for faculty and staff
Advising & teaching resources
The Office of the Registrar collaborates with the Student Success Center to provide academic advisors with tools and guidance. Course listings and classroom information is coordinated within the Registrar's team.
Student information & FERPA guidance
We offer specific guidance for confidentiality of student records and information, in particular relating to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
