What to complete before graduation
Seniors, please make sure you complete these items before graduation:
-
If you have taken out loans, you will need to complete your exit loan counseling. Student loan exit interviews are a requirement of all students with loans graduating from college. This process requires you to review your rights, responsibilities, and the payment options of your student loans. Please reach out to Financial Assistance if you have any questions.
-
Complete your alumni survey. The alumni records survey allows the Alumni Engagement Office to capture your most up-to-date information so we can keep you connected with Cornell and fellow alumni.
-
Exit Interview for institutional loans: If you have borrowed a Sherman or McElroy loan, Heartland ECSI sent you an email in mid-March with a link and instructions to complete your online exit interview. This requires you to review your rights, responsibilities, and payment details of your loan. If you have questions, please contact ECSI via their live chat option or at 888-549-3274.
-
Download your unofficial transcript from Self-Service and save it to your files for future reference. Seniors will only have a limited amount of time to access Self-Service after they graduate.
-
Enrollment deposit return: After you graduate, the $200 enrollment deposit is applied back to your student account in late June to pay any outstanding charges on your student account. Any resulting credit balance on your student account will be returned to you in July.
-
If you have provided us with your bank information, the funds will be returned to you via electronic funds transfer in July. You will receive a notification through your Cornell email account once the funds are sent to your bank. Be sure to leave your bank account open until you receive your refund.
-
If you have not yet done so, but would like to provide Student Accounts with your bank information, please go to the Secure Upload Portal page where you will find the Student ACH Authorization form and the secure upload link. It is important that you follow the instructions as outlined on the form or we will not be able to use the information you submit.
-
If we do not currently have your bank information, a check will be mailed to the permanent address on file.
