Intern Site Agreement

STATEMENT OF AGREEMENT

This agreement is between Cornell College (the “College”) located at 600 1st Street SE, Mount Vernon, IA 52314, and the undersigned ("Company") for the purpose of verifying for the College and the Company the expectations of the internship experience and to document that the parties have agreed to take part in this academic experience. All parties should reserve a copy of this form for their records (the “Agreement”). The expectations of the below named student intern ("Intern") are outlined in a separate Internship Agreement.

The Company shall be responsible for communicating with the College to assure mutual participation and supervision of the Intern.

The Company is aware of and has access to the Department of Labor regulations regarding interns. The Company recognizes the shared responsibility it has with the College to abide by these regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COLLEGE

Any additional work required of the Intern shall be conducted so as not to disrupt the operations and services of the Company.

The College shall maintain for Intern professional and general liability insurance coverage.

As outlined in the Internship Agreement, if the Intern is completing a Cornell Fellowship, the Intern is responsible for notifying the Company of additional requirements (eg. Fellows blog requirements). Should the Company prefer the Intern not blog publicly regarding their experience or organization-specific information, the Intern will make alternative arrangements with the College.

GENERAL TERMS

The parties acknowledge that some student internship records could be considered educational records protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and that Intern permission must be obtained before releasing specific student information to anyone other than Cornell College.

While participating in the internship, the Intern shall in no event become or be deemed to be an employee, servant, or agent of the Company, nor shall any person on the staff or administration of the Company become or be deemed to be an employee, servant or agent of Cornell College.

TERM AND TERMINATION

This Agreement is effective during the length of the internship. This Agreement shall remain in effect beyond the internship period if the Intern and Company agree to extend the internship. However, any cancellations or modifications must be put in writing to all parties of the Agreement.

If, in the sole opinion of the Company, the Intern fails to act in accordance with the policies of the Company including, with limitation, violation of any provision of this Agreement, the Company shall immediately, in writing, so notify the College. Upon receipt of said notice, the College shall immediately request return of funding disbursed to student.

This Agreement is not to be construed as an employment contract or promise of future employment.
