Visit Cornell in person
We welcome you and your family to visit us and make yourselves at home.
While you're here we encourage you to:
- Explore campus on a student-guided tour. (Look for our well-fed squirrels along the way.)
- Eat great food at our Hilltop Café! (No joke. It’s really good.)
- Arrange to meet with the people you most need to talk to—whether that's your admission counselor, a financial aid counselor, a professor, or a coach.
- Ask us questions about anything Cornell-related—paying for college, how the block plan works, and what careers our alumni are excelling in.
We can’t wait to get to know more about you and share why we think you’ll love our diverse and colorful community on the Hilltop (that’s our nickname for campus)!
Visit Events
We organize several visit event days each year that include overview presentations from campus resource groups as well as a tour, meal, and activities. This is a great option for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are getting to know several colleges or who aren't sure they have specific questions to ask about Cornell yet. (You might even meet our college president, Jonathan Brand, along the way.)
Personalized Visits
When you're ready to dive deeper into all things Cornell or you prefer to select exactly where you'll spend your time on campus, a personalized visit is for you. These visits can be scheduled throughout the year and you can request meetings with specific resources on campus such as professors in your area of interest, financial aid counselors, athletics coaches, and Cornell's student success team. We can also help arrange opportunities to sit in on a class or attend a fine arts performance or sporting event or practice.
Planning your visit
We're here to help make visiting seamless! Please let us know if you have any questions about getting here or if you need any accomodations for your visit. For example: if anyone in your group has mobility concerns- we can arrange a golf cart tour instead of a walking tour.
Bring comfortable walking shoes for your tour, and it's wise to check the weather before you arrive—Iowa weather cycles through all four seasons, and it's best to dress for the forecast and bring layers.
