Gender neutral housing forms are due to the Residence Life Office by Thursday, March 27, 2014.

Residence Life recognizes that traditional housing options do not meet all students' needs, in particular regarding a student's gender identity or gender expression.

To this end, Residence Life offers gender neutral housing for upperclass students. The following buildings have gender neutral rooms available:

  • Russell Hall
  • New Hall
  • Armstrong House
  • Harlan House
  • 10th Avenue Apartments
  • Wilch Apartments
  • Sleep Inn
  • Merner Hall (2nd, 3rd and 4th floors only)
  • Pfeiffer Hall (1st and 2nd floors only)

Students interested in living in a gender neutral environment should complete the Gender Neutral Housing Request Form (PDF). For students interested in living in a gender neutral room in the suites, apartments or houses, Residence Life needs this form on file before the appropriate lottery. For students interested in living in a gender neutral room in the traditional residence halls, Residence Life needs this form before the general room draw process begins so that we can accurately predict housing needs. Refer to our important dates for specific deadlines.

Students are not guaranteed a gender neutral room in a particular building. Students must follow all lottery procedures for each building and must meet all eligibility requirements as detailed on each lottery page.

Incoming students interested in gender neutral housing should contact their Admission counselor or contact Residence Life to explore options.
