Hall Councils

Hall Councils give the opportunity to make your residence life experience your own! Hall Councils respond to needs and requests from residents about their halls.  They do this in many ways including through programming activities, interacting with other halls, or tailoring the decor to fit a hall’s personality; Hall Council is the place to make your ideas come to life!

Each hall is governed by a Hall Council composed of students, and is supported by a hall council advisor and an Assistant Director of Residence Life (ADRL). Hall Councils allow students to grow as leaders and ultimately shape their own living experience!

The Process for 2012-2013

Self-nominate at your first floor meeting or send an e-mail to the hall council advisors. Nominations will be accepted until September 4, 2012.

Campaigning can start as soon as you have self-nominated; be creative!

Elections will be on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the Thomas Commons during meals and 8pm-11pm within the residence halls while the RA is on duty in the hall office.

Results will be available on September 7, 2012.

Those elected should plan on attending the H2O (How To: Organizations) sessions on September 16, 2012. H2O will aid Hall Councils in the leadership development, networking and brainstorming process.
