Mind Body Soul

Wellness Works is a community of individuals committed to developing life-long healthy habits. Living on the floor creates an opportunity for individuals to create a personal plan for pursuing holistic well-being: mind, body, and soul. Participants are encouraged to live a substance-free and tobacco-free lifestyle.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students will develop a written personal wellness plan.
  • Students will establish relationships with others by attending monthly wellness dinners, participating in volunteer service and participating in wellness activities.
  • Students will study the seven areas of wellness and write and discuss their goals and reflections on one area each block.

Activities

  • Adopt-A-Highway Service Project
  • Monthly dinner meetings with guests speakers
  • Participation in numerous Intramural Sports
  • Relay for Life team
  • Canned food drive hall contest winners
  • Part of the hall that won the all-campus recycling contest

 

Applications

Applying for Wellness Works is easy!  Please go to our Wellness Works Application and answer some questions.  Preference will be given to applications received by June 5, 2009.  Decisions will be made in early July and applicants will receive notification with their housing assignment.

 

The Floor

Wellness Works is located on 3rd floor of Tarr Hall where members will live on a co-ed floor. Males and females are on the same floor in single gender rooms. The restroom on the floor is co-ed but a single gender restroom is available by walking up or down one floor.
