Accommodation Evening
Thursday, November 15, 2012
You will receive confirmation of your registration for Blocks Five through EIght on Monday, November 12.
The registration process will yield one of two possible results: your bids will have been sufficient for you to be admitted to all of the courses you selected, or, your bids were not high enough to obtain one or more courses you wanted.
If your schedule shows a course in each block (not NOC), congratulations! Accommodations is not for you. Your schedule, at least for now, is set. You may change it, by filing an Add/Drop Form, only after Accommodations. Do not attend Accommodations.
If you did not obtain all the courses you bid for (you have a NOC on your schedule), you must come to Accommodation Evening on Thursday, Novermber 15 to select alternate classes. During ACCOMMODATION EVENING, all academic departments will be represented to assist you and your advisor in finding alternate courses with openings.
PROCEDURES FOR ACCOMMODATIONS
-
If you have any block(s) listed as “NO COURSE,” schedule a meeting with your advisor to discuss alternative courses.
-
For ACCOMMODATIONS (6:00 p.m.) all academic departments will be represented to help you register for an alternative course to replace your “NO COURSE” block(s).
-
You will receive an Add/Drop Form on which to record your changes of registration. Write your name and student ID# at the top of the form.
-
To add a course to replace a “NO COURSE,” go to the departmental table for the course and ask if there are still spaces in the course you want to add. If the course is open, the person representing that department will sign your Add/Drop Form.
-
When you have replaced your “NO COURSE” block(s), ask your academic advisor to sign at the bottom of the Add/Drop Form and hand it to a staff member from the Registrar’s Office on the Orange Carpet who will enter your course into the computer. Be sure to hand in the Add/Drop Form before you leave so you will be officially registered.
- Students with more "NO COURSE" block(s) will be admitted first. Most students begin to line up by 5:30.
SPECIAL TIP:
The more quickly you inquire at each table after entering the Accommodation Area, the better your chances of finding your choices open. If you have not thought about your schedule and not made a list of course choices in advance, you will spend precious time during Accommodation Evening pondering your choices while others are filling up the courses you may wish to take.
