Marcus D. Pohlmann Mock Trial Invitational Tournament

Cornell College hosts annually a competitive invitational tournament each fall. The inaugural tournament was held in October 2007. The Marcus D. Pohlmann Mock Trial Invitational at Cornell College is named in honor of Cornell alumnus, Dr. Marcus D. Pohlmann.

Marcus Pohlmann completed his undegraduate degree at Cornell College in 1972, and went on to do graduate work at Columbia University. Since 1986, Dr. Pohlmann has taught in the political science department at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where he is also the coach of the highly successful mock trial program. Dr. Pohlmann is a past president of the American Mock Trial Assocation and is also one of four inductees in the AMTA Hall of Fame.

Tournament Information

The Cornell College Mock Trial team wants to thank the many volunteers that helped make the 3rd Annual Marcus Pohlmann Invitational on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 a success.  Many members of the local bar were kind enough to volunteer their time to judge rounds and give vital critique to the competitors.  We especially want to thank those Cornell alumni who gave of their time to assist with our tournament.  The support that we receive from our Cornell alums is invaluable to our program.  Check back for updates about the upcoming 4th Annual Marcus Pohlmann Invitation, coming your way in the Fall of 2010.
