Support the Pre-Law Program

The success of Cornell's Pre-Law Program is made possible through the generous support of the college's alumni. Below are three ways you can help current students have an extraordinary pre-law experience at Cornell.

On-Campus Opportunities

  • Serve as a featured speaker and talk about your legal experiences during a "Lunch with a Lawyer" program
  • Share your perspectives on the legal profession through panel conversations, e.g., What Can You Do With a Law Degree?, law student experience
  • Offer your insights on legal issues as part of a topic-oriented workshop, e.g., intellectual property issues, malpractice issues, immigration
  • Volunteer to judge a round or rounds for the annual Marcus D. Pohlmann Mock Trial Invitational Tournament each fall

Off-Campus Opportunities

  • Serve as a mentor to a current student through the Law Mentor Program
  • Meet with students over lunch or dinner when the Pre-Law Program sponsors a law school tour or other special trip in your city
  • Suggest opportunities for students to job shadow, interact with attorneys at professional events, or participate in internships or fellowships
  • Make a gift to Cornell's Annual Fund to support the Pre-Law operating budget; contact Kristi Columbus '96 in the Advancement Office

To get involved with the Pre-Law Program in any of the aforementioned areas, or to suggest other ways to support the program, please contact RJ Holmes.
