About the Pathways Program
![]() |
The goal of the Pathways program is to assist sophomores in making a successful transition from their first year of college to their second year of college. Many important decisions are made during the sophomore year, such as declaring a major, beginning a career search, taking leadership roles on campus, and developing personal relationships with faculty and staff. Through the Pathways program we provide opportunities for sophomores to: |
- Discover which majors will best fit their interests
- Learn which careers match their interests
- Network and interact with Cornell alumni
- Develop supportive relationships with Cornell faculty and staff
Pathways hosts numerous events throughout the year to help sophomores choose their path. Events include:
- Sophomore Welcome Back: Sophomores have the opportunity to take a career-interest survey, meet the Sophomore Experience Team, and learn more about the Pathways program.
- Pathways Dinner Series: Sophomores will be able to attend dinner sessions specifically designed to provide sophomores with information about choosing a major or career. Cornell alumni and faculty members will be present to provide sophomores with information pertaining to their career paths.
- Sophomore Week: Sophomores can network with faculty and learn about internships and other experiences during a series of workshops.
- Career Services Workshops and Events: Sophomores are encouraged to take advantage of Career Services workshops, resources and events throughout the year, especially those designed to help you choose your major and explore careers!
