Our Cornell Students
Jordan Zuccarelli
Class of 2004
What I'm Studying
Double major in Psychology
and Spanish with
a minor in Latin American Studies
Why Cornell?
"Cornell's block plan was very intriguing to me when I was
researching colleges as a high school senior. Immersion into a subject
seemed like an excellent way to learn, especially in the areas I
wanted to study. To this day I have never been let down by OCAAT,
and could not be happier with my decision to attend Cornell. When
the Financial Aid office made it very affordable for me to attend
Cornell, everything fell into place."
Other Activities
Cross
Country, Track,
Mortar Board,
Psi Chi, Sigma
Delta Pi (Spanish Honor Society), Major
Mentors, The Cornellian, Judicial Board, and I am a part
of an independent Psychology research group studying various aspects
of dating trends in the US and other cultures.

The Latin American Studies major is designed to provide students with
a broad knowledge of Latin American culture and history. Students who
choose this interdisciplinary major take courses in the Spanish language
and selected courses from other disciplines: anthropology, art, economics
and business, history, Latin American literature and culture, politics,
and religion.
Students who major in Latin American Sudies are strongly encouraged to
include in their course of study an education experience in a Latin American
country. Cornell professors offer off campus courses in Latin America
in anthropology, art, politics, and Spanish language. In addition, students
may participate in the Costa Rica program of the Associated Colleges of
the Midwest or (with faculty approval) independently arrange their own
program of study in a Latin American country.
