Assessment

Assessment entails "any effort to gather, analyze, and interpret evidence which describes institutional, divisional, or agency effectiveness" (Schuh & Upcraft, 1996, p. 18). We use it to identify and celebrate our successes, reinforce and support our mission, enhance the quality and effectiveness of our programs and services, inform planning and decision-making, assist us in securing additional funds, improve our institutional profile for prospective students, and, ultimately, foster student learning and success (adapted from M. Bresciani).

At Cornell College, assessment is based on our intellectual curiosity about, and inquiry into, student learning and educational effectiveness.
