How I spend my work day: Manage the communications office; market the college in conjunction with colleagues in admission; edit the Cornell Report; oversee the top level of the Web site; oversee media relations and publications; assist alumni and development offices with communications; and draft letters, speeches, and messages.

What I can do for you: I can help you  strategize how best to communicate your message to your audience. I also welcome your ideas on marketing the college, building our Web presence, and continually improving the Cornell Report magazine. Let me know if there is any way we can improve communications with faculty, staff, students, alumni, media, or the public.

About me: I am a Cornell College alumna. I live in Mount Vernon with my husband, Imran Farooqi, and daughter, Rehanna, and especially enjoy family, friends, music, and reading. I have a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and worked for 10 years at the Cedar Rapids Gazette as an arts/entertainment reporter and music critic prior to returning to the Hilltop in 1994.

My roots: Cedar Rapids, Iowa (mostly)

One thing I enjoy most about Cornell: I cannot limit this to one! I love Homecoming, hearing the King Chapel bells, wonderful colleagues, Cornell students, and alumni from all eras, but particularly "golden alumni." It's also pretty fun to work with my former professors.

One little known fact about me: I have two degrees from Cornell: 1982 with majors in philosophy and politics; 1990 with a major in music.
