How I spend my work day: My day consists of one part getting news out, one part taking news in, and two parts getting ready for when news happens. With so many events happening on Cornell’s campus every day, it’s important for me to keep in touch with people around campus. I also pitch in on publications and manage photography, as well as focus on marketing strategies to let people all around the country know about the great things happening on campus.

What I can do for you: I can help you publicize, write, edit or figure out how to deal with the media. My door is always open and I’m constantly interested to hear what’s going on in your department/group/class and how we can let people know about it.

About me: I graduated from Cornell in 2005 with degrees in politics and philosophy and have a master’s degree in Journalism. I’ve worked for ABC News and the World Security Institute while out in Washington, D.C., but returned to the Midwest, where I’ve lived most of my life.

My roots: I consider myself a Minnesotan who’s lately had a thing for Iowa. Nearly all of my family is from Minnesota.

One thing I enjoy most about Cornell: Just one? How about the fact that, as soon as I stepped back on campus, I was immediately invited to join an intramural team, play basketball over lunch, have dinner with young alumns, and join community groups. No one is more welcoming than a Cornellian.

One little known fact about me: I have maybe the best Peter Jennings story ever from my time at ABC, which I’ll tell anyone who asks.
