The following are scholarship opportunities that we have received in our office for the 2013-2014 academic year. Some of them have provided a web site that you can go to to download an application or get additional information. The HotelsCheap Scholarship Program

HotelsCheap is offering college scholarships for students aspiring to achieve a college education. Having attended college ourselves, we appreciate the difficulty students face in financing their education, and we recognize the benefits a college degree can provide. That's why our need-based scholarship rewards students who are looking to better themselves, who have goals and dreams, and who are committed to achieving a college degree. US students who are 16 years of age or older are encouraged to apply for our scholarships. High school students, undergraduate students, master degree students, and adult learners are all encouraged to apply.

 iModules is proud to be able to give back to our clients and the communities they serve by helping students with their academic pursuits. Now in its seventh year, the iModules Scholarship Program annually provides individual financial scholarships to students enrolled in secondary or higher education institutions that are current iModules clients.

13 scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,500 for the 2014-2015 school year.

DMMOM College Scholarship 2014-2015

The Des Moines Mothers of Multiples (DMMOM) club is a non-profit organization founded in 1959 for the
educational and support needs of parents of multiples. We are proud to offer up to two (2) scholarships
for multiple birth students pursuing enrollment or currently enrolled in a college, university, trade or
vocational school.

The scholarship committee will review all applications completed by the stated deadline and select the
recipients based upon the criteria and eligibility noted below. The award will be $350.00 for 2014-2015
academic year.

Goedekers College Scholarship

Goedeker’s believes in your potential and would love to see you flourish. That is why we are offering a $500 grand prize scholarship toward costly college textbooks. 


Any student that is enrolled in an accredited college is eligible to participate. This includes any grade level, freshman to senior; undergrad and graduate alike are eligible. Even if you are a transfer student, non-traditional student, or taking classes online, you can enter. Any major or field of study is acceptable.

High school seniors that are enrolled in an accredited college, either for a dual credit program or for an upcoming semester, are eligible to enter as well.

We will consider submissions of essays until the entry deadline, which is July 31, 2014, at 12am CDT.

College Scholarship Writing Contest

Interested students can write a brief essay with the winner being selected from teh essays submitted.  This is a merit schoalrship and is available to all students attending accredited institutions of higher learning.  Entries must be submitted on or before July 1, 2014.  Value of the scholarship is $1000

Sixt rent a car Scholarship 2014/2015

Sixt rent a car is offering five graduating high school seniors the opportunity to receive a $5,000 scholarship and the chance to become a Sixt Scholar. The program is designed to assist high school students who plan to continue their education in college. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

Spokeo Connections Scholarship

  • Applicant must be either a recently graduated high school senior who will enroll as a freshman at a four

    basis at an accredited four-year or two-year college or university.

Mary and Orlin Trapp Science Scholarship

All applications and required documentation must be postmarked by March 15. Late or
incomplete applications cannot be accepted by the Foundation so please follow all

Scholarship awarded to a student who has been a student for at least one full year in
Science or Mathematics, including: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Botany or Zoology.
Scholarship will be awarded primarily on demonstrated outstanding scholarship and a
broad range of superior attributes including honesty, high moral character, ethics,
integrity, initiative, leadership ability, and concern for community and peers.

Applicant must submit Two letters of recommendation from faculty members from
different departments within the college speaking to above listed values.

Applicant must submit letter verifying church membership from pastor.

First preference to members of a Christian Church, either Protestant or Catholic Church.

Applicant must attend an Iowa United Methodist College or Iowa State University.

Applicant must submit grade transcript to date.  Scholarship not based on financial need.

The Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Program

The Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Program for the Fall 2014 semester includes two (2) $10,000 scholarships and four (4) $5,000 scholarships, to be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students with a declared major of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life-science field. To qualify for the scholarship, students must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be enrolled in an accredited college for university for the Fall 2014 semester. In addition to these qualifications, students must also be legal United States residents, meaning that students possessing appropriate Visa status in order to study in the United States are also eligible.

Students may apply for the scholarship through the Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Website. Applications will be accepted until 2:59:59 p.m. CT on August 1, 2014. Each application will be reviewed and evaluated by a scholarship committee and announced to the chosen recipients by August 14, 2014. We strongly encourage all students that meet the scholarship award criteria to apply for this great scholarship! DiversityJobs.com’s scholarship program is open to all diversity and minority students, including Hispanics, African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, military veterans, women, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBT community.  DiversityJobs.com awards $3,000 annually to currently enrolled undergrads and graduate students from registered schools in the US.  The next application deadline is April 30, 2014.  There is NO application fee.  Click here to see past award finalists

Czech Heritage Foundation, Inc.
The Czech Heritage Foundation provides a scholarship opportunity for applicants of Czech/Slovak ancestry who have completed a minimum of one year as a full-time post secondary student, have accumulated at least 28 post secondary credits, or are a graduate student.  Applicants home address must be within 100 miles of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and upon receipt of an award, recipients are expected to participate in a function sponsored by teh Czech Heritage Foundation.  Please download the application and application requirements.  Application deadline is July 1, 2014.

2014-2015 Fall Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Award

Thermo Fisher Scientific is offering our future science scholars an opportunity to win $10,000 in scholarship funding for the 2014-2015 Fall semester. This scholarship was created to help provide educational opportunities for the future generation of scientists. Graduate students or undergraduate students must be enrolled in an accredited college for the 2014-2015 Fall semester to qualify for this scholarship. Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest Description

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.
