Extraordinary Opportunities
On Campus
At Cornell, some of your most significant experiences will happen outside the classroom—in your residence hall, in a special-interest group, on the Orange Carpet, in serving the community. Our student life staff eagerly supports students in finding ways to grow and explore. There are more than 100 student-led groups on campus, and plenty of other ways to develop your skills and pursue your interests beyond the classroom.
For example:
- Connect Floor and Living Learning Communities give students a guided journey into service and leadership with like-minded students.
- Student activities, ranging from Student Senate to Greek groups to the Performing Arts and Activities Council, allow students to assume leadership in many campus roles.
- Students organizations work with Cornell staff to build relationships while sponsoring everything from mountaineering outings to spirituality events; chess and games to intercultural gatherings.
- Civic engagement opportunities enable student to build community on campus, in nearby communities, and around the world.
