Thomas Commons Renovation

The Thomas Commons project is being designed utilizing LEED certification methods. Though it is unlikely the college will undergo the certification process (and expense) these design methods will insure that Cornell builds the most energy efficient building possible under the available budget. Some of the initiatives that are being included in the building design are a stand alone high-efficiency hot water boiler system, a high-efficiency frictionless water cooled air condition system, high-speed hand dryers, energy recovery ventilation systems, lighting occupancy sensors and other energy saving lighting systems.
