The inspiration for the hit movie Patch Adams will speak at Cornell at 7pm in King Chapel on April 9th. Dr. Patch Adams is not only a physician, he is a social activist, professional clown, and Director of the Gesundheit Institute, a holistic medical community that has provided free heatlh care to thousands of patients since 1971. All over the world, Patch shares his message of caring, infusing humor into healthcare, and transforming the healthcare system in a way that is more patient-friendly. Through his lectures, Patch likes to stir things up and make people think.
Dr. Adams' campus lecture will focus on "Humor and Health" and will examine the relationship between humor and the health of the individual, community, and society. Following the lecture, Patch will share in conversation and a dessert reception with student members of Cornell's Health Professions Society.
