Cornell recognizes that students will need help "after hours" from time to time. Counseling Center hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Tuesday by appointment. Should you, or a friend, need assistance "after hours," the following resources are available to you:
  • Your Resident Assistant (RA) is an excellent resource for assistance. An RA is on duty in residence halls each night. He/she has access to numerous resources in the Mount Vernon area that could be of use to you.
  • Your Division of Student Affairs Staff on Call is also a great resource. Your RA will be able to contact the staff member on call.
  • Campus Safety (Per Mar security service) can provide assistance in emergencies and in times when safety is an issue. You can reach Campus Safety by calling 895-4299.
  • If you need someone to talk to, need information about a support group in Cedar Rapids, or have an emotional crisis, the Foundation II Crisis Line is an excellent resource. You can call the crisis line at 362-2174, which is a local call from Mt. Vernon, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
