Merlin Ackerson ’54 and Helen Irish Ackerson ’54 flank former President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter outside the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Ga., where the Carters are members. Last October the Ackersons participated in an Elderhostel at St. Simon’s Island, and then on their return to Iowa they stopped in Plains to attended Carter’s Sunday Bible class and the worship service following. |
