The first new construction on the Hilltop in
almost 20 years, Youngker Hall, houses
Cornell’s 266-seat Kimmel Theatre, which
had already hosted three mainstage
performances, two student play festivals,
and two classes by the time the building
was dedicated in April as Charles
Youngker ’42 and Virginia “Ginny”
Bolton Youngker ’43 (below) looked on.
The completion of Youngker Hall leaves
only Armstrong Hall as the unfinished piece
of the fine arts project. Fund-raising has
wrapped up on the $16.3 million campaign;
the renovation of Armstrong for the music
and theater departments is scheduled to
be completed this fall.
