King Chapel
Preserving our common touchstone
King Chapel is the common thread all Cornellians have shared since 1882. With its imposing Gothic revival architecture and soaring clock tower, it is also the most photographed building on campus. But time has taken its toll on this campus icon. To preserve King Chapel for future Cornellians, the college must soon begin a major structural restoration.
The Extraordinary Opportunities
Campaign King Chapel project
will restore building integrity, repair damaged exteriors,
alleviate the effects of over 125 years of settling, and create a weather-tight building. A permanent
plaque will recognize all donors contributing $50,000 or more. Want to help keep King Chapel standing
strong? Contact Peter Wilch ’94, vice president of alumni and college advancement, at (319) 895-4315.
