My fellowship experience
"I have gained confidence and
understanding in the mechanisms behind many of the experimental
protocols. It is much more fulfilling to know why you are adding one
substance to another rather than to simply do so because it is written
down that way."

Aims of the Fellowship
The CNRC is the setting for numerous scientific discoveries
which I had the privilege to be part of this last summer while I worked with
Dr. C Wayne Smith. Dr. Smith's
laboratory focuses on inflammation and wound healing with an objective of
determining the mechanism for leukocyte accumulation at sites of inflammation
and tissue injury.
