My fellowship experience
"Probably the
most important and valuable skill I gained from this fellowship was adjusting
to and accepting unexpected changes in my work or surroundings.”

Aims of the Fellowship
I primarily worked in two departments: Marketing,
Communications and Media Relations, and Human Resources. Oddly enough I had started the fellowship
process expecting to work at the National Restaurant Association. After Steve Anderson changed jobs to become
the CEO and president of NACDS, it was planned that I would work in the
Government Affairs department. My
supervisor promptly resigned a week after my arrival in Washington, DC. In the
Marketing, Communications and Media relations department, I was given many
projects which ranged from research, to writing press releases, to proofreading
the Industry Profile and the Annual Report.
