My fellowship experience
"My fellowship
allowed me to identify my priorities in a workplace environment, realize my own
role in such an environment and evaluate the results to determine if they are
desired, appropriate and beneficial to my career."

Cornell Fellow in Public Affairs
Site
Office of Senator Tom Harkin
Washington, DC
Aims of the Fellowship
My Cornell Fellowship in Representative Government was
conducted with the Office of U.S. Senator Tom Harkin. I spent most of my
fellowship in Senator Harkin's personal office in D.C.; however I also gained
experience in the Senator's Des Moines office and the Health, Education, Labor,
and Pensions subcommittee office. I attended briefings for legislative
assistants, subsequently summarizing and reporting on the details, and spent
time collecting data on varying subjects for staff persons.
