About the Visiting Writers Series
Each year the Visting Writers Series brings about six writers to visit Cornell classes, have meals with students and faculty, and give a public reading and/or lecture. Recent highlights include:
- National Book Award winner Mark Doty
- Global Filipino Literary Award winner Patrick Rosal
- Environmental writer Scott Russell Sanders
- NEA Fellows Tim Seibles and Camille Dungy
- Sarah Shun-lien Bynum, one of the New Yorker's top "20 Under 40" fiction writers

About the Global Voices Reading Series
Every fall the Global Voices program brings two writers to campus from the University of Iowa's International Writing Program. We have recently hosted writers from Iraq, Haiti, Cameroon, South Africa, Russia, Albania, Denmark, Bosnia and other countries.These writers also visit classes to discuss their cultures and give public readings and discussions about writing.
