Career Development Center

The goal of Cornell's Career Development Center is to empower students and alumni by offering services which will help them acquire skills to choose and attain personally rewarding careers. The Career Development Center, located in the northwest wing of Ebersole, recognizes that career development is a life-long process.

Some of the services provided to help students shape and implement their career goals include:

Individual career counseling and career assessments (MBTI & SII)
Career programs by College, community, and alumni professionals
Cornell Alumni Career Network
Annual Graduate and Professional School Fair
Annual Volunteer Opportunities Fair
Career Resource Library, which includes:
- DISCOVER, computer-based career guidance program
- Full-time, part-time, and summer job listings/bulletins
- Volunteer opportunities listings
- International opportunities: listings/bulletins/directories
- Internship listings and directories
- Graduate/professional school information and entrance exam applications
- Employer/organization information and directories
- Labor and salary surveys
- World-of-Work career information

Resume referral and interview opportunities through IPCPC

To enhance career opportunities, students are encouraged to take advantage of these services beginning with their first year at Cornell and follow guidelines outlined in the student handbook, The Compass. The Career Development Center is not an employment office, nor do they ``place'' anyone. Rather, students and alumni who effectively utilize the resources and services offered receive assistance in all five components of the career development process: 1) self-awareness, 2) occupational awareness, 3) career decision-making, 4) career planning, and 5) acting on options consistent with career goals.
