Physical Education and AthleticsA wide variety of physical education, intramural, and intercollegiate athletic opportunities for men and women is available through the Department of Physical Education. Students may participate in intramural sports on an individual basis or as members of residence halls, social groups, or other teams. The intercollegiate athletic programs are conducted within the guidelines of the Midwest Athletic Conference (MWC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association-Division III (NCAA). Women's intercollegiate sports are basketball, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, track, and cross-country. Men's intercollegiate sports are baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track, and wrestling. The following schools, listed by state, compose the Midwest Athletic conference: in Illinois-Illinois College, Knox, Lake Forest, Monmouth; in Iowa-Coe, Cornell, and Grinnell; and in Wisconsin-Beloit, Carroll, Lawrence, Ripon, and St. Norbert.
